A safe and warm home this winter

Amanda Hedlund

Executive director, Habitat for Humanity

I want to share a story with you.

Last fall, a local woman called us, desperate for help, because a hole in her roof caused rain to rot her bathroom ceiling. Her light fixture kept filling with rain so she disabled her bathroom electricity for fear of being electrocuted.

She couldn’t afford to hire a contractor. She didn’t qualify for a loan. She’d been showering in the dark for months when she called Habitat for help.

Today, you can help your neighbors with much-needed critical home repairs, like replacing a rotted roof, building a wheelchair ramp so a stroke survivor can be safely discharged from the hospital, or adding a backyard fence so the child living with autism can play safely in his yard.

Please make a gift today by going to https://habitatwinona.org/donate/. When you support Habitat locally, you make a life-changing impact on even more families like these. You give a hand up, not a handout, to more families in need.

Thank you for your support of Habitat for Humanity here in Winona and Fillmore counties. I am always encouraged by the generosity and compassion of friends like you.

P.S. If you have already made your gift, please know we thank you for your generous support.
