Three Winona State University student-athletes have been named to 2020-21 College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) All-District teams, as announced on Thursday, June 10.
Winona State senior Megan Flom was named to the Academic All-District volleyball team. An elementary education major, Flom earned a 3.94 GPA.
Warrior football players Luc Leszczynski and Carter Duxbury were both named to the NCAA Division II Super Region First Team, two of 13 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) student-athletes listed on the 23-man squad. For both Leszczynski, an economics and finance major with a 3.72 GPA and Duxbury, an elementary education major with a 3.93 GPA, the award marks their first career appearance on the prestigious list.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District football teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Duxbury, a linebacker from Chatfield, Minn., was named NSIC All-Academic in 2017 and 2018. At Winona State, he has registered 82 tackles and accumulated 4.5 sacks. Duxbury was also named a Winona State Athletics Honor Student-Athlete award winner and nominated for the prestigious NSIC Britton Award.
Leszczynski, a defensive lineman from Muskego, Wis., was named NSIC All-Academic in 2019. As a Warrior, he has racked up 39 and accumulated a pair of sacks and appeared in 20 contests so far in his career.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early July.
