County 4-H’er honored by Kiwanis Sunrisers
Cora Gibbs was recognized as the Winona 4-H Youth Representative for the month of May. She is the daughter of Bridget and Nathan, a member of the Silo Happy Hustlers 4-H Club and a senior at Lewiston-Altura High School.
Cora has served as the historian of her 4-H Club and participates in the swine and dairy projects. Her favorite 4-H project is the dairy project. In 2017 Cora was awarded first place in the intermediate age division in 4-H Dairy Judging Contest at the Minnesota State Fair. She also had the Champion Duroc Barrow in 2016! Cora’s favorite 4-H memories include showing livestock and interacting with other 4-H members. She said she has also learned how to talk to people that she is unfamiliar with throughout her time in 4-H.
Cora has also attended Regional 4-H Camp at Whitewater and Gopher Dairy Camp and participates in her club community service projects including making tie blankets for families at the Ronald McDonald house.
Winona Sunrisers Kiwanis Club honors one outstanding Winona County 4-H member during its breakfast meeting the fourth Wednesday of each month. The club meets on a weekly basis every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Winona Family Restaurant in Winona.
