WACS preschoolers are young explorers
Through an award of a Young Explorer Grant, (sponsored by the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation), WACS students are given additional support with early literacy efforts to enhance school readiness through the use of technology. The Young Explorer, a computer housed in brightly colored, kid-friendly Little Tikes™ furniture, is equipped with award-winning educational software to help children learn and explore concepts in math, science and language. The computer center helps children learn important socialization skills such as working together and sharing. Exploration and socialization skills are important to prepare children for future success in school.
