Winona Police 

Monday, June 7

•    At 8:35 a.m. officers received a report that a building on Front and Vine streets was vandalized with spray paint. 

•    At 12:10 p.m. officers received a report that a storage unit was broken into on the 650 block of West Third Street. Nothing was missing, according to the report. 

•    At 2:57 p.m. officers received a report that a mountain bike was stolen on the 150 block West Mark Street. 

Tuesday, June 8

•    Officers received a report that a dog groomer was bit by a customer’s dog on the 850 block of West Fifth Street. No severe injuries were reported. 

Wednesday, June 9

•    Officers received a report that packages were stolen from a common hallway in a building on the 1400 block of West Broadway. 

•    At 8:57 p.m. officers received a report that a bicycle was stolen on the 500 block of Harriet Street. 

Thursday, June 10

•    At 1:23 p.m. officers received a report that two laptops were stolen on the 150 block of Lafayette Street. The theft is under investigation. 

Friday, June 11

•    At 1:34 a.m. officers received a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a juvenile victim and juvenile suspect who appear to know each other. The alleged assault is under investigation. 

•    At 2:18 p.m. officers received a report that an acquaintance of a vehicle owner allegedly damaged the owner’s vehicle with a metal pole on the 700 block of East 10th Street. The incident is under investigation. 

•    At 4:04 p.m. officers received a report of an alleged sexual assault of a child that occurred about six years ago. The event is under investigation. 

Sunday, June 13

•    At 12:24 p.m. officers received a report that a purse with $300 in cash, banking cards and keys was believed to have been stolen at the Lake Park Bandshell. 

•    Officers arrested Dustin Allen Zeller, 33, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of domestic assault causing fear and damage to property after he allegedly kicked someone’s vehicle. 

•    At 7:13 p.m. officers received a report that a bicycle was stolen on the 250 block of Center Street. 

 

Winona County

Monday, June 7

•    At 7:09 p.m. officers received a report that a mailbox was damaged on Sinclair Road in St. Charles. 

Tuesday, June 8 

•    At 12:16 a.m. deputies received a report that a vehicle’s windows were smashed out on County Road 39 near Highway 74 in the Altura and Elba area. 

Thursday, June 10

•    At 9:50 p.m. deputies arrested Jacob Julius Wise, 23, of Winona, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Minneiska near Buck’s Bar. Deputies initially responded to a report of someone vomiting in a parking lot. They reportedly located Wise unconscious in his vehicle. Potential charges are pending blood-draw results. 

Friday, June 11

•    At 12:22 a.m. deputies referred a 17-year-old juvenile male to the county attorney for a potential charge of possession of a controlled substance. Deputies initially pulled him over for allegedly not dimming his headlights on Highway 43. Deputies then reportedly found marijuana wax and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. 

•    At 1:42 a.m. deputies arrested Raymundo Padilla, 33, of Texas, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and gross-misdemeanor test refusal. Deputies initially pulled Padilla over for allegedly speeding on Highways 61 and 43. A breath test reportedly measured his blood-alcohol content at 0.155 percent. A potential charge of test refusal stems from Padilla allegedly refusing to take further substance tests at the Winona County Jail, according to the report. 

Saturday, June 12

•    At 4:38 p.m. deputies received a report of a motorcycle crash on the 22000 block of Garvin Heights Road. The driver was reportedly taken to a local hospital for the treatment of minor injuries. 

 

Buffalo County 

•    A 50-year old Fountain City man reportedly hit a concrete bridge abutment head-on Sunday, June 6, at about 11:58 p.m. on Bechly Road, near Kamrowski Road, in Milton. The passenger in the vehicle, a 21-year-old Fountain City man, said his hip and leg hurt because of the impact, according to the report. He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. According to the Sheriff’s Office, alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash, which is under investigation.
