Bob Welch Aquatic Center

Opening date is June 12, 2021. Closing date is August 22, 202. Additional pre- and post-season hours may be possible pending staff availability.

The 2021 admission rates are $48 for memberships; $37 for 10-punch cards; and day passes for $5 for adults, $4 for youth, and free for children four and under.

Hours are Monday through Friday, open swim session from 1-6:00 p.m. Five shareable lap lanes will available during open swim sessions. Saturday and Sunday open swim session 12-7:45 p.m. Five shareable lap lanes will available during open swim sessions.

At least two shareable lap lanes will be available during swim lessons for individuals interested in lap swim from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Other lanes may be used for learn to swim lesson programming.

Swim lessons start Monday, June 14. Session 1runs from June 14-22. Session 2 runs from June 28 to July 6. Session 3 runs from July 12-20. Session 4 runs from July 26 to August 3. Session 5 runs from August 9-17.

Group lessons will be held at 10 a.m., 10:40 a.m., 6:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. Private lessons will run throughout the day and follow same pattern as group lessons. Full listing can be found at

Group lesson fees are $47. Private lesson fees are $85.


Lake Lodge Recreation Center

Lake Lodge opens May 14. A variety of outdoor equipment is available to rent including canoes, kayaks, long boards, bicycles, and stand-up paddle boards to use on East Lake Winona or within Lake Park.

From May 14 -through June 10 hours will be Monday through Friday, 4-7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 1-7 p.m.

From June 11 to September 5, hours will be Monday - Sunday, 12-8 p.m.

Equipment may be rented daily; membership options available.


East Recreation Center

The East Recreation Center creates environments and experiences that help youth play and connect with others. Membership required but it is free! Youth must be ages 6 or older to be in the recreation center without an adult. Join us for activities Monday through Saturday this summer. Activities and programs will include nature/outdoors-based lessons, sports, games, crafts and more!

From June 10 through September 4, summer hours are Monday through Saturday, 12-6 p.m. The center is closed on Sunday.



Treedome and WinonArts will bring back their successful Lake Park Drive-in Movies and Music Series for the summer and early fall of 2021. The series provides a safe space for an outdoor viewing experience at the historic bandshell. The Lake Park Drive-In showcases music from local and regional bands paired with a family friendly movie screening at dusk (about 9 p.m.), with a band concert beforehand at 7 p.m.

Municial Band concerts

The bandshell has been the home of the band since 1924! We hope you can take in one of the free concerts happening weekly at the Lake Park Bandshell.

The 2021 concert dates are June 16, 23, 30; July 7, 14, 21, 28; and August 4, 11, 18. All concerts are on, Wednesdays, 8- 9 p.m.

If the weather is questionable, call 507-457-8220 to determine if the performance has been cancelled.


Youth sports

Park Rec T-Ball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children 3-6 years old. The program prepares children for organized T-ball, baseball and softball in a fun, non-threatening environment. Age-appropriate equipment is used to teach throwing, catching, batting, and running. This is an instruction-based program with light game play as the season progresses. Parent/guardian participation is expected.

The location is Lions Park Ball Fields at 670 East Front Street, next to Bud King Ice Arena.

Session I

- Ages 3-4

- June 8-24, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:15-6:00 p.m. or 6:15-7:00 p.m.

Session II

- Ages 5-6

- June 29 through July 22, Tuesdays and Thursdays (No program July 5-9) at 5:15-6:00 p.m. or 6:15-7:00 p.m.

The fee is $47 (includes T-shirt, instruction). Financial assistance is available by calling 507-457-8258.

Equipment needed: Baseball glove (We have a limited supply, contact us if in need).

No deadline for registration. Registration is open until capacity has been reached. Sign up in-person or online.


Adult sports


Adult Kickball League

Registration open until August 20. The season is six season games plus playoffs and runs from Sunday, September 12, through October 31. Game times are 3:30, 4:30, or 5:30 p.m.

The free is $190 team fee. There is a $60 late fee after August 22.

The format is coed, adult (ages 16-plus) minimum 6 players, maximum 9 players on the field (see official rules). Players must be 16 years old by first game.

Register in-person at the Park Rec Office or online at (activity #29142). Full payment is due at time of registration.

Adult Volleyball: Steamboat Days Coed Volleyball Tournament

The format is adult coed grass fours; round robin play followed by seeded tournament, self-officiated; format subject to change based on number of teams that register; rules distributed at match.

The tournament is Saturday, June 19, 2021, with a team meeting at 8:45 a.m. Games begin at 9 a.m.

Fee is $100 per team. Deadline to register is 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14.

Awards are: $400 for fist place, $300 for second place, $250 for third place, $150 for fourth place (based on 12 teams; actual payout will depend on final number of teams).

Location is Bambenek Fields, next to the Jaycee Shelter, 340 East Lake Park Drive in Winona. There will be concessions and family fun (trails around two lakes, playground, bike & boat rentals). The event coincides with Steamboat Days Softball Tournament.
