‘Broadway on Third’ brings musical tunes to downtown
On Friday, August 6, 2021, from 5-8 p.m., Café Congo will present “Broadway on Third: A Musical Revue” in front of the Home and Community Options (HCO) main office on Third Street (66 East Third Street) as part of the Dine Out Downtown program.
The evening will feature music from Broadway including “Anything You Can Do” from “Annie Get Your Gun,” “You Could Drive a Person Crazy” from “Company,” “My Favorite Things” from “The Sound of Music” and many more show-stoppers. The revue will also feature a sing-a-long with familiar favorites that are sure to delight.
Beyond presenting music, “Broadway on Third” will also nod to the HCO musical that has been part of the fabric of Winona summers for over 20 years. Due to COVID-19, HCO has not been able to stage the annual musical since 2019, when it produced “My Fair Lady.” Many cast members and musicians from previous shows will perform over the course of the evening.
This special event is part of the Dine Out Downtown program, sponsored by the Winona Chamber of Commerce and seeks to support local businesses, raise money for Home and Community Options, and provide a fun night on the town for the Winona Community. While the event takes place from 5-8 p.m., all are invited to stop in and stay as they are able.
