All-America honors for the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Grand Valley State University on May 27-29.
Winona State University (WSU) had seven student-athletes earn nine total All-American awards, with impressive performances in both individual and relay events.
Earning First-Team USTFCCCA All-American honors by virtue of finishing among the top eight in their respective events – including as a member of a relay team – at this past weekend’s outdoor championship meet were Kendall Zeman, Shereen Vallabouy, Brooklyn Schyvinck and Kalley Harris in the four-by-400 relay. Harris also earned first-team honors individually, competing in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in eighth place in the finals.
Second-team USTFCCCA All-American honors were awarded to Michaela Pryor, Maddy Pietz, Kaylee Olson and Brooklyn Schyvinck, who combined to run the four-by-100 relay at the NCAA Division II Championships.
All three of the Warrior performances resulted in a rewriting of the WSU record book, with Harris’ 400-meter hurdle mark of 1:00.21 minutes becoming the second-fastest all-time at Winona State, and the four-by-400 relay team also moving into second-place all-time with their finals time of 3:42.09. In the four-by-100 relay, the Warrior effort in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships of 46.94 narrowly missed qualifying for the finals but did earn a second-place spot on the Winona State Outdoor Top 10.
