WSU tennis standout named NSIC Player of the Week

Winona State University (WSU) women’s tennis standout Beth Murman was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Player of the Week for her performance leading the Warriors to a pair of sweeps earlier this month.

On Saturday, March 20, Murman competed in the number-one doubles with teammate Audrey Delich, as well as the number-one singles position for WSU as they took on NSIC foe Upper Iowa University (UIU). Murman, a junior from Fort Dodge, Iowa, defeated UIU’s Varvara Ogorodnikova 7-5 and 6-2, and Winona State won in doubles as well, 6-1.

On Sunday, March 21, the Warriors hosted the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, and Murman took to the courts at both number-one doubles and singles. Paired again with Delich, WSU won 6-0 in doubles play and Murman went on to win number-one singles 7-5, 6-2 over Kailey Courteau.
