"What stands out to me about the Myles Brand Award is that it celebrates sustained academic excellence over time. The 18 recipients of this award have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to both their academic and athletic pursuits since the day they stepped foot on the Winona State campus, which is consistent with the work and legacy of Dr. Brand,” Justin Loehr, associate athletic director for Student-Athlete Services said. "We have so enjoyed following their achievements over the years and look forward with great anticipation to the accomplishments that await them in the future. No matter where their paths may take them after WSU, we will never lose the sense of pride we all feel knowing that they will always be Warriors.”
The award, named for the late NCAA President, Dr. Myles Brand, is presented to senior NSIC student-athletes who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher, are exhausting their eligibility, and are on track to graduate.
The 18 award winners represent the largest single-year total for Winona State since the award began in the 2009. The previous record was 15 selections, earned in the 2018 academic school year.
