During the month of January 2021, the walls of the Acoustic Cafe at 77 Lafayette Street in downtown Winona will feature work by local artist Patrick Grace.
Grace’s new work was developed from nearly 300 sketches and studies he posted on Instagram over the past year. The discipline of posting daily helped him to continue to create during this time of isolation from family and friends.
There also are recent works from his “100 Views of Trempealeau Mountain” series begun a few years ago and previously presented elsewhere.
Additionally included are a new series of whimsical Totems created using castoff and up-cycled wood and other found materials. These three dimensional wall hung pieces tell stories about real and imaged creatures in bright colors and fun shapes.
Grace has a degree in art from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, as well as advanced degrees in design and arts administration.
For those unable to visit the Acoustic Cafe during the month the exhibit can be virtually viewed at: patrickgrace1.wixsite.com/home/acoustic-cafe-jan-2021
All work is available for purchase.
The Acoustic Cafe, now offering take out service only, has been providing wall space for local visual artists for 20-plus years.
Their hours are (subject to change): Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
