Next 8-week session begins October 1 in the comfort of your home
It’s a great time to focus on taking care of yourself and improving your health. A healthy weight is a key component of that, and Winona Health is here to help.
“Most people know what they need to do to lose weight, but they don’t always have the tips and information that will be the most helpful in achieving their goal,” said Winona Health Registered Dietitian Kayla Roland, RDN. Roland will lead Winona Health’s next HealthyFit series, an adult weight management program, through a virtual platform accessible in the comfort and convenience of your home.
This class will provide participants with the tools to achieve better health. Whether that means diet changes to lower cholesterol, increasing physical activity for improved strength and endurance, or reducing portion sizes for successful weight loss.
The HealthyFit weight management program includes the following:
• Eight total sessions over the course of eight weeks
— Two, 30-minute individual virtual nutrition sessions one-on-one with the dietitian
— Six, virtual group classes on specific nutrition-related topics
• Personal goal setting
• Basic nutrition principles including:
— Understanding the nutrition facts label
— Deciphering nutrition claims on products
— Introduction to mindful eating technique
— Meal planning techniques
• Behavioral changes that focus on goal setting, problem solving, motivation, mindfulness, and handling setbacks
Virtual sessions take begin on October 1 from 4-5 p.m., and on every Wednesday thereafter through November 18, 2020. Virtual sessions use computer, tablet, or smartphone devices with compatible video/audio.
The cost is $125, which includes class resources and two, 30-minute individual nutrition sessions for personal nutrition coaching.
